60 - Forgery

There are no known examples of a genuine numeral 60. If existing, they would probably be type 1d

Here is a numeral 60 forgery, in the form of a duplex cancel, on a large chalon. 38 rays. First seen by me in late 2016. Is this a modern forgery?

This listing gives prices for Queensland numeral cancellations. The price listed here is the premium that is added to the existing catalog value for a given stamp issue to arrive at an estimated price when selling an item. 

This is a listing only. Nothing is for sale on this blog 

Prices are for stamps in good condition with a clear numeral cancel showing all the numerals. Partial, hard to decipher, illegible or smudged cancels will be worth considerably less. The same applies to good cancels on stamps that are riddled with rust

568 - Forgery

Numeral 568 on a ray is a forgery. It has 23 rays rather then 24, the shape of the top of the 6 is different to the genuine issues and is usually seen on high value stamps only, with the date stamp portion missing, and often replacing a fiscal cancellation that has been "cleaned". For genuine Charters Towers 568 duplex stamps see here
