63 - Forgery

Numeral 63 with the bottom of the three closed on a high value chalon or revenue stamp is a forgery! There are two types.Numeral 63 Type 1b has either 34 rays or 36 rays and the bulb of the 3 is joined up. (The genuine 63 has 32 rays)

Forgeries Type 1b (34 Rays). Incorrectly described as a genuine pair of 63's at an auction house. The high values (10 and 20 shillings) should have alerted them!

And here is one of these again being offered for sale by a reputable auction house!
