Greenmount post office, 25 km south of Toowoomba, opened on 2 October 1871. It was renamed Emu Creek on 1 January 1879 before reverting back to Greenmount on 20 August 1901

Emu Creek post office, 16 km from Clifton, opened on 1 November 1877. It was renamed Greenmount on 1 January 1879, then Greenmount Railway Siding on 21 August 1901. It is not known what the relationship was between Emu Creek and Emu Creek Siding post offices but only the Emu Creek Siding date stamp and registered stamps have so far been seen
