Eagle Junction post office, 6 km north north east of the Brisbane general post office, opened on 1 December 1888 and closed in February 1911
  • Sideface Ray Type 1e (6 mm) (23 rays) is rated 4R. The 7 differs from the Ipswich 1f (6 mm) as the top line is flat and does not have the short line protruding down at the top left hand side
  • Sideface Barred Numeral Type 2a (6.5 mm) (thick numeral) is rated 3R
It is not known when the cancellers transferred from Ipswich to Eagle Junction. In the case of Type 1e it was no later than 1901 and with Type 2a it was after July 1900. Unless the stamp is tied to the Eagle Junction post office, contains the 1907 + watermark or is the 1906 + 2d, you should assume it was used at Ipswich
