368 - Richmond Downs / Richmond

Richmond Downs post office, 145 km east of Julia Creek reopened on 5 June 1879 and in 1899 the name Richmond was gazetted
  • Sideface Barred Numeral Type 2 a (6 mm) is rated Common - distance between numerals is 10 mm 
  • Sideface Barred Numeral Type 2 a (7 mm) is rated 4R - distance between numerals is 15 mm

As you can see from the examples, the two numerals are very different. The easiest difference to spot is that the top of the 6 is curved in the 7 mm numeral rated 4 R and it is only seen on 3rd Sideface issues
